A period piece set in the parallel world of the Victorian Era

Dominique's THE SOCIETY is a story I started working on as a script several years ago. I grew up watching movies (classic cinema in particular) and reading books, immersed in every frame, captured by every page. Fascinated by many genres onscreen and in print, I found myself immediately drawn into period pieces. The costumes, the designs, the structure, the formality … The drawing rooms, gossip circuits, scandals, and love stories, be it Tyrone Power and Norma Shearer in MARIE ANTOINETTE, Greta Garbo and Robert Taylor in CAMILLE, or Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy in BECOMING JANE, Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, the fourth wall to THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST or the fly in the room in AN IDEAL HUSBAND. However, when reading the descriptions on the pages or seeing the script played out onscreen, it was obvious I could never see myself in those stories, only on the outside looking in, never at the table, never inside the ballroom. Such, I created my own period piece, set in my own world, in my own past. In the only medium that could allow complete boundless imagination to run free visually, where there are no rules, no limits, no structure as to how you can tell your vision ... a story. Thus, creating Dominique's THE SOCIETY. This has been a longtime passion project of mine that I hoped to turn into a film when I wrote it. For now, it's storyboards, pitch trailers and a dream. Feel free to share this site along the way. The louder the voice the wider the audience.
